Community Outreach

Every November, our pupils, teachers and administration visit Budaka Health Centre IV to share care, comfort and practical gifts with patients, new mothers and their babies.

This year’s outreach: Thursday, 5th November 2026

Why We Do It

Teaching kindness by practising it

Axis Nursery Day and Boarding Primary School in Budaka Town Council believes that a good education includes a good heart. Each November, the whole school community visits Budaka Health Centre IV to bring physical items, emotional comfort and solidarity to families who need it most.

For our pupils it is a lesson no classroom can teach: that what we have is worth sharing, and that a visit, a smile and a small gift can lift someone’s day. We invite parents, alumni, businesses and well-wishers anywhere in the world to stand with us.

Who We Reach

Three ways the outreach makes a difference

Supporting Sickle Cell Patients

Budaka District carries a significant burden of sickle cell disease. Families living with this inherited condition face emotional, physical and financial strain. Our visit offers encouragement and helps break the rural stigma that so often surrounds it.

Aiding the Children’s Ward

For children in hospital with acute or long-term illness, we bring care packages with basic hygiene items, nutritional support and comforting essentials, along with something to play with.

Welcoming Newborns

Our community visits the maternity and neonatal areas and gifts new mothers with basic baby necessities, so that every newborn has a dignified start in life.

How you can take part

Every gift, big or small, goes straight to the families we visit.

Donate supplies

The school collects these items for the wards:

  • Soap and toilet paper
  • Bottled drinking water and sugar
  • Baby basins, baby clothes and diapers
  • Cotton wool and sanitary pads
  • Play materials for the children’s ward

Hand items to the school office, or call to arrange collection.
